Hey there,
You ever have that feeling that you really want to do something? Like you wake up in the morning and first thought is about what you'd like to do... And then reality hits. There's chores around the house that needs to be handled, or you've to do groceries or god knows what else. Either way, there's always something to keep you busy... Before you know it, it's dinner time and you no longer have the energy to do that what you really wanted to do.
Well, that's how I felt last week. Everything went kinda crazy and unexpectedly me and the hubby spend a long weekend with the in-laws, before I knew.. Well, it was a week later and I got an e-mail saying I got the job I was applying for! Of course, I'm super excited about that. And yet... I did really want to write. I'm afraid writing is going to have to wait for a while, unless I kinda bribe the hubby to go play his xbox so I can write in peace. Lol. Well, who knows.
Either way, doing great and still got plenty of ideas flowing through my head. Hopefully I'll be able to write quite a bit tomorrow!
And just for the heck of it, here's a cute Pikachu!
So, it's D.J. signing off for now~~

Sneak peak: Prelog - part 1
Hey again,
Well writing is going slower then I had hoped... But still, process is process, right? So here's how the book begins, with Mizumi:
September 21th 1851, America
Mizumi was only three years old when it all began, for her at least. She was running around the living room, too excited to contain herself and nearly knocking over the maid. Firewood fell everywhere. With unbelievable speed Mizumi moved to the other side of the room and watched the maid struggle to put all the firewood in the fireplace. The lady of the house walked in the room, barely looking at Mizumi and focusing on the maid. “What’s all this noise?” “I’m sorry mi-milady.” The maid stammered. “Lady Mizumi is just excited.” Mizumi’s big blue eyes focused on her mother. “When are we leaving for the picnic?” “I told you to be patient, cook is still making us a picnic basket. And what did I say about running around? Act like a proper lady and sit down!” Mizumi’s smile faltered, “Yes mother.” She sat down on the couch and crossed her ankles at the base. The maid flinched at the lady Odelia’s harsh tone, but she knew better than to say something. Quietly she left the room, giving one last glance at the little girl sitting on the couch. She always thought Mizumi looked like a porcelain doll. She had a heart shaped face, piercing blue eyes framed by long curly hair. Which if she had to compare it to anything, looked almost fuchsia. Today Mizumi was wearing a baby blue laced dress with a white ribbon at her neck, her wrists and on the hem. But no matter how beautiful she looked, there was always a certain sadness clinging to her. Lady Odelia turned around and saw the maid hovering in the doorway. “Why are you still here?” The maid made a whimpering noise and quickly left before lady Odelia could strike her. “And you, stay here until we’re ready to leave.” Without looking at her daughter, she walked away.
I hoped you enjoyed that! Tell me what you think about it :) also keep in mind, this is the first draft so any small mistakes will be fixed later on.. I just felt like sharing a piece of my 'baby' with you.
It's D.J. signing off ^^ back to writing I go!

Mizumi
Hey again!
It's been one crazy week with the hubby doing nightshift and having his birthday yesterday. But it was worth it, homemade pie for the hubs and of course a great present for him =) now that's all over and I can focus what I've been thinking/dreaming about all week... Ideas for my book! I'm so super excited, because I've had major inspiration flow going on. Let's hope I can put it to paper as well, because just having it in my head is (unfortunately) a completely different thing.
But here's a little teaser which I hope you guys will like as much as I have! It's a drawing of Mizumi made by a friend many years ago, it's one of the best drawings I've ever had and it's extremely precious to me. Anyway, the guy in the picture is Seiya (from SailorMoon) I used to be a huuuuuge fan and have seen the whole series like 3 times, lolz. Anime freak much? Yes I admit it, I still am. Right now my addiction is Fairy Tail! I totally love it. Anyway back to the drawing, here it is:
I totally adore it, it's absolutely gorgeous.
And to make you guys understand it better, here's a short biograph about Mizumi!
Mizumi is the main character of my book, when you meet her the first time she's only 3(!) years old. After which we'll be time jumping a bit to where she's 19 years old. I can't tell much as to not spoil a lot. But Mizumi is part vampire, part human. How? Well, that'll be explained throughout the whole book series.
Now your thinking: but Twilight has that too! That is indeed, correct. However, I started writing and imagining my books long before I had ever heard of Twilight. Of course it's unfortunate that it's similiar but I can promise you, my book is very very different and therefore I myself think it'll be a great read if you love those kind of books!
Also to make things complicated, Mizumi is part of a big magical family, which will also be introduced throughout the many books that I'm planning on writing. So, why is Mizumi's hair purple instead of the regular blonde/brown/red or what not... Because it means she's special and has an 'underlying' talent that will come to show when she grows older. Sorry, I can't say much more ;) but I promise I'll post a preview of the book soon, so hang in there!
I'm off to put my inspiration into my book! It's D.J. signing off~

Introduction
Hey diary,
At first I thought... Why not create a (diary)blog about my book? Write biographies about my characters, sneak peaks.. Things like that. But then I realised, if I do that where would I put my thoughts? So it'll be a combination of every day things, thoughts, feelings and most importantly of course; my book!
My name is Desirée but most people call me Desi. It's just easier that way ;) I'm 26 years old, living in Finland but I'm actually Dutch. Confusing much? Well long story short: I met a guy on the internet, we met in rl after 4 years of talking and I fell in love. After 8 months I decided I didn't like the distance and moved in with him. Now we're married and living happily ever after. Lol, well definitely happy, we'll see about the future later. The hubby is amazing though and gives me every freedom to write and find inspiration for my book. He's also a great sound board to bounce off ideas! What more could I want?! Simple, absolutely nothing.
But why start this blog now, in this specific time? Well, it all started with a headline; the letters are send. Now I know many people will not understand this, so I will explain it. The letters are military letters for everyone who is enlisted. Now why is this happening you ask? Because Finland is preparing itself in case something crazy happens, or more on point... if Russia happens. Of course the chances are slim, but would you want to risk it if your neighbour is doing things you don't understand? Probably not. Now the thing is, all young males are enlisted in the army once they finish High School. Which means, my hubby is one of those who will most likely recieve a letter... It's crazy, it's scary, it's messing with my mind. Therefore I decided, there's no time like the present to start writing again. Not just my book, but my feelings and thoughts as well. I want to organize things but also believe that the future will still turn out the way me and my husband envision.
So there you have it, these are my reasons for starting now. I'm hoping to finish my book by the end of this year and we'll see what else comes on my path along the way.
Now it's off to bed with this aspiring writer, since it's almost 3:00am... Oops!
