Mizumi

Hey again!

It's been one crazy week with the hubby doing nightshift and having his birthday yesterday. But it was worth it, homemade pie for the hubs and of course a great present for him =) now that's all over and I can focus what I've been thinking/dreaming about all week... Ideas for my book! I'm so super excited, because I've had major inspiration flow going on. Let's hope I can put it to paper as well, because just having it in my head is (unfortunately) a completely different thing.

But here's a little teaser which I hope you guys will like as much as I have! It's a drawing of Mizumi made by a friend many years ago, it's one of the best drawings I've ever had and it's extremely precious to me. Anyway, the guy in the picture is Seiya (from SailorMoon) I used to be a huuuuuge fan and have seen the whole series like 3 times, lolz. Anime freak much? Yes I admit it, I still am. Right now my addiction is Fairy Tail! I totally love it. Anyway back to the drawing, here it is:

I totally adore it, it's absolutely gorgeous.
And to make you guys understand it better, here's a short biograph about Mizumi!

Mizumi is the main character of my book, when you meet her the first time she's only 3(!) years old. After which we'll be time jumping a bit to where she's 19 years old. I can't tell much as to not spoil a lot. But Mizumi is part vampire, part human. How? Well, that'll be explained throughout the whole book series.
Now your thinking: but Twilight has that too! That is indeed, correct. However, I started writing and imagining my books long before I had ever heard of Twilight. Of course it's unfortunate that it's similiar but I can promise you, my book is very very different and therefore I myself think it'll be a great read if you love those kind of books!
Also to make things complicated, Mizumi is part of a big magical family, which will also be introduced throughout the many books that I'm planning on writing. So, why is Mizumi's hair purple instead of the regular blonde/brown/red or what not... Because it means she's special and has an 'underlying' talent that will come to show when she grows older. Sorry, I can't say much more ;) but I promise I'll post a preview of the book soon, so hang in there!

I'm off to put my inspiration into my book! It's D.J. signing off~

  1. Oo, I'm excited about the hair thing. It reminds me of Alanna's purple eyes in the Song of the Lioness series by Tamora Pierce. :)
